I'm going on a beaded lace adventure, and I want you to come with me. This pattern will show you how to weave seed beads and round beads into large medallions with a needle and thread. These medallions are designed to look like Irish crochet and tatting lace.

The tutorial is 10 pages, including 44 illustrations and photographs. The tutorial is a PDF file that gives step-by-step instructions explaining how to make 5 different medallion variations. I give specific patterns for medallions with 6, 7, and 8 petals that range in size from 1 1/2 to 2 inches. The last three pages includes photos of several design possibilities for necklaces and wide cuff bracelets using medallions, flowers (part 2 of the beaded lace adventure), and swags (part 3 of the beaded lace adventure). While many design inspirations are included (as shown in the last 2 photos here), this tutorial does not explain how to finish a specific piece of jewelry.

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginner bead weavers.
Some basic knowledge of bead weaving is helpful.

This is part 4 in my series Beaded Lace Adventure, where I aspire to write a series of tutorials designed around making a large collar necklace out of beaded lace. I am carefully documenting my process in this series, and I invite you to make a lace collar or cuff bracelet with me.
