FALL SALE! | Golden Labradorite -- 5.6ct Oval Cabochon by AlternativesLapidary

Labradorite is a naturally occurring mineral in the feldspar family (a cousin to the equally popular moonstone). It is typically green to gray, sometimes yellow or white, and (typically) exhibits a spectacular play of light across its surface, typically blue and green, sometimes orange and rarely pink, red or purple. This less frequently seen variety of labradorite has a bright, even yellow body color and often includes schiller or little plate like inclusions that give off a metallic shimmer.

This gorgeous cabochon could almost be confused with moonstone as it has a pale golden body color with a white glowing sheen that moves across its surface. Look close and you'll see that sheen is caused by a critical mass of tiny metallic schiller inclusions. It's a lovely sight! It measures 13 x 10 x 5mm tall and weighs 5.6 carats. Labradorite is durable enough for jewelry, though it is softer than quartz, so care should be taken during setting and wear. This stone has one unfortunate, large veil running across the stone, so I'm selling the stone at a discount from what I ordinarily would, and extra care should be taken during setting. But, it should be fine.

All my stones are hand-cut by me, and the stone you are buying is always the stone pictured. Please see my shop policies for more information, or feel free to contact me with your questions and feedback.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!
